Hoek Homes was first formed in Western Queensland during the late sixties by the late Bill Hoek with his two sons Ern and Ray. Their first major contract was to build 50 homes for the Queensland Housing Commission (now Q Build) in Mt Isa in 1968. This was followed by several other large contracts also in Mt Isa.
In the early seventies they relocated to the Pine Rivers Shire in South-east Queensland. During the seventies and eighties they continued with their government group housing contracts building many homes in Brisbane, Redcliffe, Caboolture and Pine Rivers.
In the late eighties they branched into the private sector, building homes for local families, many of whom have returned for their second and third homes.
Today, after nearly forty years in the industry, Hoek Homes continues as a family business. Ray still runs the housing division. Some of their tradesmen have been with them for over twenty years. Their dedication to quality workmanship is a rare commodity in these days of quick turnover mass-produced project homes.
Dean Hoek heads the modular relocatable division, which has been operating since 2003.Dean believes the personal hands on approach to building the cabin division brings something special to this market that has previously been a factory style production line. The same quality tradesmen used in their homes are also used for the cabins.
